CRED News - The 2013 Round Up

We ended 2013 winning 4 major awards. The winning streak kicked off with the scooping of the Lloyds TSB People and Environment Business award (PEAB) in the Supply chain category.

The award honoured our pioneering accomplishments of creating the first fully transparent supply chain in jewellery, from mine to consumer and the efforts made by our miners to reduce the environmental impact of extracting gold to 40 times less than that of large-scale mining.

The second award; The 2013 Guardian Sustainable Business Award was a truly humbling surprise and we're honoured to have been recognised in this way for our efforts in establishing a transparent supply chain.

In September, CRED Director, Alan Frampton, was named one of Professional Jewellers' Hot 100 UK Jewellery Professionals

Professional Jeweller editor Kathryn Bishop stated that: ".....this year’s Hot 100 is brimming with retailers carving their own paths, designers who have buyers flocking to place orders, and business people showcasing nous and creativity".

Finally, Alan flew out to Buenos Aires in Argentina to collect our fourth award. CRED was selected by the Center for Studies on Sustainable Luxury [Centro de Estudios para el Lujo Sustentable] in recognition of the company's continual commitment to social causes. This award aims to recognise the best business practices, strategies, innovations and activities of various sustainability-related sectors in the luxury industry.
