Cred's Top Five Picks: Met Gala Style
Last night's Met Gala was, as always, a feast for the eyes: a sea of scintillating fabrics and glimmering accessories, sleek tresses and enormous dresses. In celebration of the staggeringly chic event, here are our top five Met Gala-inspired Fairtrade jewellery picks.
Twisted Hex Hoop Earrings
This set of large hoop earrings from our Precious Metals collection add a touch of flair to a block colour dress. We loved Emma Stone's simple fuchsia two-piece and Joan Smalls' silky grey number. The Twisted Hex Earrings in recycled silver would definitely look great with her blue lipstick too.
Michelle Williams rocked a patterned shift dress with striking cream edging. A chic structured choice that would have looked amazing with a simplistic, chunky bangle. Our Wide Step Silver Bangle, from the Spring Twist collection, is made from Fairtrade Silver and is the perfect pared-down accessory for bold printed attire.
3. Pipal Filigree Bangle
Our ethical Spring Twist collection packs some serious floral punch. We noticed that a few attendees at the Met Gala dipped out on taking the black tie dresscode to the next level. Janelle Monae, definitely had the right idea with some far-out detailing and botanically inspired pattern. Our Pipal Filigree Bangle, a stunning statement piece made from either Fairtrade gold or recycled silver, is perfect for doing a Janelle and giving a plain outfit an on-trend edge.
5. Fractured Pattern Locket
Reflective shimmer was a big theme at this year's Met Gala, with Blake Lively and Amy Adams wearing impressive metallic gowns, so we picked out one of our favourite shine-inspired pieces. Slightly more understated than a floor-length silver dress but a winner nonetheless in 100% certified Fairtrade silver mined in Peru.
